# Microsoft Teams App

Use Blockbrain right inside Microsoft Teams, next to your meetings, chats and channels.

The Blockbrain Teams app brings your Blockbrain assistant, agents and knowledge into Microsoft Teams. Open it from the app bar on the left, or use it as a tab in a channel. With the MS Teams Agent it works with your meetings, chats and channels: it reads meeting transcripts, finds recordings and prepares your follow-ups. It only sees what you can already see in Teams, and it asks before it posts, sends or books anything.

### What you need

* **Microsoft Teams** in the desktop app or in your browser, signed in with your work account.
* **A Blockbrain account.** If Blockbrain asks you to sign in, use your work email.
* **The Blockbrain app in Teams.** Your IT team adds it for your company.
* **A transcript for meeting recaps.** Turn on transcription or recording in your meeting. Blockbrain can read the transcripts of meetings you organised.

### How you get it

* Your IT team adds Blockbrain to Microsoft Teams. Nothing to install. After that, Blockbrain is in the app bar on the left, and team owners can add it as a tab to their channels.
* **You are the admin who sets it up.** Follow [Teams & Sharepoint Web Component](/for-admins/web-components/teams-and-sharepoint-web-component.md).

### Where to find Blockbrain

| Step                    | What to do                                                                                                                                                                                                                   |
| ----------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Open it | In the Teams app bar on the left, click **Blockbrain** (your company may call it differently, for example **BlockbrainTeamChat**). If you don't see it, click **View more apps** (…) and search for Blockbrain. |
| Use it in a channel | Open the channel and click the **Blockbrain** tab at the top. If there is none, a team owner can add it with **+** (Add a tab). |
| Pick the MS Teams Agent | Click the agent name at the top, for example **In-Sharepoint Agent**. Open the **Agent** tab, search for **Teams** and choose **MS Teams Agent**. New chats start with the default agent, so pick it again in each new chat. |
| Start a new chat | Click the new-chat icon at the top right. Your earlier chats are in the chat list, which opens with the menu icon at the top left. |

{% hint style="info" %}
**You stay in control.** Blockbrain only sees what you can already see in Teams. Before it posts in a channel, sends a chat message or creates a meeting, it shows an approval card and waits. Choose **Allow Once** to approve just that step. **See Detail** shows you the full message first.
{% endhint %}

### Prompts to try

| What you want | Try this |
| ---------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Recap a meeting | Summarise my most recent meeting from its transcript: the key decisions, and the action items with owners and due dates. |
| Check who said what | What exactly did \[name] say about \[topic]? Quote them with timestamps, and tell me where we disagreed. |
| Find a recording | Is there a recording of this meeting? Where is it saved, and how long is it? |
| Post a recap in a channel | Post a short recap of this meeting in this channel: the decisions, the action items with owners and dates, and the next check-in. |
| Send yourself a checklist | Send me my own action items from the meeting as a short checklist in a chat to myself. |
| Book the follow-up | Put the check-in we agreed on into my calendar: \[day], \[time], called "\[title]", with the open points as the agenda. Don't invite anyone yet. |
| Prepare for the next meeting | Prepare me for that check-in: what has to be done before then, which points are still open, and what I should ask \[name]. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.blockbrain.ai/for-users/web-components/microsoft-teams-app.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
